The DCE platform is based on schema less XML database technology. Imposition of schemas and DTD’s are done on the client side. All required integration across multiple sources will be done at the client level and on the fly. This database technology allows content owners to rapidly convert legacy content (Ms Word, PDF, HTML) into native XML and our application suite can integrate with the database directly eliminating heavy middleware with all the associated costs and maintenance.
 
Content migration
The DCE content migration layer is a semi-automatic process to rapidly enable the migration of legacy (MS Word, PDF, HTML, etc) documents into semi-structured XML. The speed of conversion and migrating legacy content using DCE is unparalleled in the industry providing both cost and scalability benefits.
 
Industry’s Fastest Search / Query
The DCE search/query capability uses a simple query language, this makes for very fast searches. The context and content based search/query makes the search extremely relevant, i.e. you can search for a specific title and material within the title returning only relevant text. The system also supports other forms of text searches including alpha numeric searches. There is built in support for ISBN, Mach21 standards and other standards as needed.
 
Digital Reader
DCE’s digital reader is a highly customizable digital content reader designed for books, journals and other digital content to provide rich user experience. The overall look-and-feel of the reader will be defined by Style sheets. Emantras understands usability is necessary but not sufficient. The Reader focuses on designing navigable components, and tool pallet, so users can easily find what they need. They will control the colors, fonts, button and field sizes, etc. The reader has many user friendly AJAX components, Flash components.
 
Author & Publish (Application Suite)
Publishers can easily and quickly create new products based on any combination of pages from any number of books. This layer allows editorial aggregation of content into different digital libraries based on access rights. The authors can pick and choose content from various digital books to bundle content and create digital products on the fly. This application can also be made available to the consumer level allowing subscribers to query and access content from multiple databases, aggregate and create their own content, publish and share the information as defined by the portal. Essentially this is a "custom-book" application. Rapidly changing content products like journals are easily managed with effective operational features like archive access, multi journal referencing and adaptive subscriber management.
